Dua majlis anugerah paling berprestij ini iaitu KBS Drama Awards 2021 dan SBS Drama Awards 2021 baru saja melabuhkan tirainya. Seperti kebiasaan tanggal 31 Disember setiap tahun, dua majlis anugerah ini akan berlangsung secara serentak. Anugerah ini dilaksanakan bagi menghargai usaha dan pencapaian cemerlang para pelakon dalam drama Korea yang disiarkan di rangkaian masing-masing.
KBS Drama Awards 2021 yang disiarkan secara langsung menerusi KBS World TV di Astro Ch392 telah dihoskan oleh Kim So Hyun, Lee Do Hyun, dan Sung Si Kyung. Tahun ini sekali lagi majlis anugerah diadakan secara “offline” tanpa kehadiran penonton berikutan pandemik Covid-19 masih lagi aktif. Manakala SBS Drama Awards 2021 pula dihoskan oleh Kim Yoo Jung dan Shin Dong Yup.
Siapa sangka pelakon Ji Hyun Woo dianugerahkan Daesang menerusi drama “Young Lady and Gentleman” yang bersiaran setiap hujung minggu. Ternyata lakonannya sebagai Lee Young Kook, bapa tunggal kaya kepada tiga orang anak melayakkan Ji Hyun Woo untuk menerima anugerah tersebut. Bahkan drama “Young Lady and Gentlement” juga seringkali mencatat purata tontonan tinggi dek kerana jalan ceritanya yang dekat dengan kehidupan seharian kita. Tidak hanya itu, drama ini turut memenangi anugerah Excellence Award for Full-Length Drama, Best Writer, Best Couple, Best New Actress, dan Best Young Actor and Actress. “Young Lady and Gentleman” berkisarkan kisah percintaan di antara “lelaki kaya” dan “wanita muda yang malang” ketika mereka cuba mencari kebahagiaan sambil bertanggungjawab atas pilihan mereka sendiri. Melalui pelbagai watak, drama ini menangani konflik yang timbul akibat perbezaan umur dalam perhubungan, pengkhianatan, ketamakan, dan cemburu.
Tahniah diucapkan kepada para pemenang.
Bagi SBS Drama Awards pula, sekalung tahniah buat teraju utama siri drama “The Penthouse” Kim So Yeon yang merangkul anugerah Daesang. Jika tahun lepas, pelakon ini hanya sekadar calon Daesang, nampaknya tahun ini rezeki memihak kepadanya. Kemenangannya dijangka ramai kerana dia telah berjaya membawakan watak antagonis dengan begitu hebat. Sesiapa yang mengikuti drama ini pastinya teringat atau membenci betapa kejamnya watak Cheon Seo Jin. Rasanya ini memori terindah buat Kim So Yeon apabila ini merupakan pertama kali dia diberikan anugerah Daesang sepanjang tempoh kariernya setelah menewaskan Song Hye Kyo, Lee Je Hoon dan Honey Lee.
