[Exclusive interview] Jeon Jong Seo and Moon Sang Min talk about their latest drama “Wedding Impossible”

Another new Korean series from tvN and Amazon Prime Video, is now available on Prime Video Malaysia.

“Wedding Impossible” is about unknown actress Na Ah Jung (Jeon Jong Seo) who decides on a fake marriage with her male friend Lee Do Han (Kim Do Wan) in order to become the main character for the first time in her life, and her future brother-in-law Lee Ji Han (Moon Sang Min) who is desperately opposed to his older brother’s marriage.

With the premiere of “Wedding Impossible” on February 26, KMania had the opportunity to interview Jeon Jong Seo and Moon Sang Min. Let’s check it out on what these actors thought about their latest drama, characters and more.

1. What made you choose “Wedding Impossible” and what’s going to surprise viewers about this drama?

Jeon Jong Seo: It is my first TV drama in Korea, and the biggest reason for choosing it was the script. I got the impression that it was not the kind of romance that combines genres like ones that are trendy these days, but rather a script with a story that can be watched for a long time without feeling tense.

Moon Sang Min: I always wanted to try the romantic comedy genre, and I also wanted to play a big puppy-like male lead who is younger [than the female lead]. I was grateful to be able to play a charming character named Lee Ji-han, so I joined the drama. The special thing about our drama is that the brother-in-law is against his brother’s marriage, which is why the relationship between Ji-han, Do-han, and A-jung is both refreshing and fun. I think this setting itself is an element that viewers can feel differently.

2. If you could play any other character in this drama, who would it be?

Jeon Jong Seo: If I were a male actor, I would like to play the role of Lee Do-han, played by Kim Do-wan. I found the role appealing.

Moon Sang Min: I want to play Ji-han’s older brother, Lee Do-han. When I saw the edited version, Lee Do-han’s character was more attractive than I felt from reading the script, and it contained the atmosphere of him well. So I wanted to challenge myself and try it too.

3. Can you share any memorable or funny moment during filming and what is your favorite scene?

Jun Jung Seo: You can see the atmosphere of our filming site by watching the behind-the-scenes videos, but the scenes were fun and I never stopped laughing. This is the first time I’ve done a drama with actors my age, so I filmed it naturally as if I was playing in a playground when I was younger.

Moon Sang Min: The atmosphere on the set was really good. We talked a lot about our daily lives and got to know each other naturally. Also, during our break time, we all gathered in the waiting room and played games like mafia. I think every moment was so good and fun. In addition the senior actors, the director and the staff are all great, so I thought I would like to meet them again if I have the opportunity.

4. What’s challenging about bringing your character to life?

Jeon Jong Seo: Since it was my first drama debut, there were slight differences compared to the film work I had done so far. However, I didn’t want to act in a drama just because dramas are frequently talked about in Korea, I thought of doing it according to my acting skills. It may be an acting style that will be unfamiliar to viewers in the beginning, but I was confident that I could persuade them as the story gradually ripened after the beginning. I think the fun script made me feel confident.

Moon Sang Min: Ji-han has clear goals, so at times he shows his cute side to reach his goals and even goes as far as desperately forsaking his image. As the episodes continue, Ji-han changes in various ways, both internally and externally, and I thought a lot about how to show this difference to the viewers, and I tried to focus on this.

5. Moon Sang Min – how do you feel to showcase your dancing skill with ‘Be Mine” by Infinite?

Moon Sang Min: Whenever I had time, I went to the practice room and practiced with a teacher, and even at home, I practiced hard after reviewing myself. I think it worked out well when I was practicing, but it was so difficult when I was filming because I had to pay attention to my dance, singing, and facial expressions. I felt that the singers were really amazing. And there were actors who were on stage with me on the set, and they were so good at dancing, so I tried harder because I got motivated to do better. It was another fun experience that’s different from acting.

6. Could you say something to your overseas fans especially Malaysian fans who are watching this drama?

Jeon Jong Seo: Malaysian fans, I’m Jun Jong-seo playing Na A-jung in “Wedding Impossible.” Thank you so much for your interest in our drama, and the drama has just begun, and A-jung and Ji-han are becoming more and more loveable as the series goes on, so please look forward to it and love it! Thank you.

Moon Sang Min:Thank you so much for watching. We have a lot of fun episodes waiting ahead, so please look forward to it and stay with us until the end. Thank you!
