Anugerah drama korea terbilang selepas Baeksang Art Awards sudah pun melabuhkan tirainya semalam. Kita dikejutkan dengan kemenangan ‘daesang’ bersejarah oleh Lee Byung Hun menerusi watak lakonannya yang penuh syahdu di dalam drama tvN Mr. Sunshine. Beribu-ribu tahniah diucapkan kepada beliau yang turut disaingi ketat oleh pelakon Kim Nam Joo (“jtbc Misty”) , Cho Seung Woo (“jtbc Life”) , Lee Sung Kyun (“tvN My Mister”) dan Son Ye Jin (“jtbc Something In The Rain”) dalam kategori yang sama.
Dengan kemenangan ini, beliau telah membuktikan bahawa beliau bukan saja hebat di dalam layar perak, malah masih utuh di dalam industri drama korea walaupun telah lama menyepi sejak drama KBS Iris yang dbintanginya pada tahun 2009. Sewaktu saja menerima anugerah ini di pentas, Lee Byung Hun berkata , ” Saya tak berfikir apa-apa dan tak pernah kesal dengan cerita digarap demikian. Mr. Sunshine ialah satu drama di mana semua krew bekerja dengan bersungguh-sungguh termasuk kumpulan B dan C. Saya mahu berterima kasih kepada semua orang, daripada krew pencahayaan sehinggalah mereka yang menjadikan saya kelihatan seperti orang muda.”
Lee Byung Hun turut menamakan lima individu termasuk dirinya – Kim Min Jung , Byun Yo Han, Kim Tae Ri dan Yoo Yeon Suk yang perlu banyak belajar, seterusnya menyebabkan beliau berasa lebih ‘terancam’ sebagai orang yang sudah berpengalaman. Buat sesiapa yang mengikuti Lee Byung Hun selama ini, pasti tak pernah lupa bahawa beliau pernah mencipta sejarah tersendiri di tanah airnya apabila menyapu bersih kesemua anugerah Best Actor di tiga anugerah berprestij di Korea Selatan dengan watak lakonan daripada filem yang sama pada tahun 2015 , satu pencapaian yang menjadi penanda aras tinggi buat aktor -aktor muda untuk berkarya dengan lebih baik.
Selain Lee Byung Hun, turut sama menerima anugerah Best Actor dan Best Actress ialah Park Seo Joon dan penyanyi muda bergelar pelakon, IU dengan lakonan yang boleh dipuji, masing-masing melalui drama tvN What’s Wrong With The Secretary Kim dan tvN My Mister. IU pernah dikecam atas lakonan tak memuaskan di dalam drama-drama lakonannya sebelum ini. Bagaimanapun, Park Seo Joon tak dapat hadiri majlis berkenaan dan menghantar pesanan menerusi kiriman video.
Untuk kategori Best Actor dan Best Actress Mini Series, masing-masing dimenangi oleh Jung Hae In dan Go Ah Sung menerusi drama jtbc Something In The Rain dan OCN Life on The Mars. Jung Hae In turut membawa pulang anugerah hallyu Popular Actor.
Dan semestinya, penulis skrip Lee Seo Yeon menerusi naskah jtbc Life telah merangkul Best Scriptwriter kali ini. Beliau pernah merangkul anugerah Best Screenplay 6th CARI Kdrama Awards dan 2018 Baeksang Art Awards melalui drama tvN Stranger.
